"THE FOREST" CHARITY CONCERT 2026
Nine years ago, Andreas Wolff's musical journey began with the release of his debut EP Alone In The Wild. Now the pianist and composer from Coburg is returning to his roots: for the first time in many years, he will perform the entire EP live again and also share selected favorite pieces from nine years of musical creativity with the audience.
What began as an intimate collection of neoclassical piano pieces has developed over the years into a multi-layered musical signature – characterised by calmness, depth and narrative clarity. This special concert invites you to retrace this journey together: from its origins to the present day.
‘My pieces are like little trees that continue to grow and change over time,’ says Andreas Wolff. ‘I am incredibly grateful for the journey of the past few years and am really looking forward to returning to my first planted trees together with the audience and seeing what has become of them.’
The charity concert will take place on 28 March at 7 p.m. at COSMOS am Anger and will support two projects close to the composer's heart: the COSMOS am Anger youth cultural centre and Martin Kohlstedt's reforestation project THE FOREST.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
With the kind support of Club Coburg Veste & Musikhaus Thomann
ABOUT THE SUPPORTED PROJECTS
THE FOREST
In 2019, musician and son of a forester Martin Kohlstedt set himself the task of sustainably reforesting forests in Germany. The aim of THE FOREST project is to create healthy mixed forests that can withstand future climatic challenges and at the same time store as much CO₂ as possible.
Unlike many reforestation initiatives that focus exclusively on planting trees, THE FOREST deliberately emphasises the long-term care and maintenance of the newly created forests. This includes protection against damage by wildlife and continuous monitoring of the areas over several years.
The project is implemented with the help of volunteers who work on a voluntary basis. Andreas Wolff also regularly supports THE FOREST in person on site and works together with the volunteers in the reforestation areas. Nevertheless, there are numerous costs – for example, for forest areas, young trees, equipment and catering for the volunteers – which is why donations are a key source of support for the sustainable work of THE FOREST.
COSMOS am Anger
COSMOS offers young people a space to try out their creative skills and discover new talents. In a wide range of workshops, they can design, experiment and learn new things – from drumming to creative writing and dance to furniture design. Everyone can get actively involved, put their own ideas into practice and get creative together with others.
In addition to the workshops, COSMOS is an open cultural venue: visitors can experience concerts, theatre performances and readings here or help organise them themselves. The COSMOS café is the heart of the building – a meeting place to exchange ideas, experience culture up close or easily register for workshops.
The project is particularly important to Andreas Wolff: music, which he himself discovered by chance at a very late stage, has given his life direction and meaning. He wants to give young people the chance to try out their creative talents and find their own way.
